Newsletter: Stay up to date!

In addition, it will contain information on recently identified problems associated with the use of MLPA (products) and informative reports from MLPA users and MRC-Holland employees.

MRC-Holland 25 years

On June 8, MRC-Holland celebrated her 25th anniversary! In 1985, our director Dr. Jan Schouten started supplying restriction endonucleases, purified from a variety of (cyano) bacteria, in bulk amounts to companies like Boehringer Mannheim and Life Technologies. With the development of the MLPA technology in our laboratory and the release of the first MLPA kits in 2002, MRC-Holland has seen major changes. Moved from the cellars of the Free University of Amsterdam to a former school building in one the liveliest neighborhoods of Amsterdam, the number of employees has increased to 40 and our MLPA products are now used in 80 different countries for hundreds of different applications. Sufficient reasons for a nice party in Artis, the Amsterdam Zoo. This day the office and laboratory of MRC-Holland will be closed.
Connection Failure

For two days, the 7th and 8th of July, the phone, fax, website and e-mail connections of MRC-Holland were unavailable. A damaged phone line, caused by construction work on a new building in the neighborhood of our office, was the reason of the connection failure. Our apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused.
ISO 13485:2003

We proudly announce that ISO 13485:2003 and CAN/CSA ISO 13485:2003 certification for the design, development, manufacture and distribution of SALSA MLPA kits has been granted to MRC-Holland B.V. in September 2009 by KEMA Quality B.V, the Netherlands.

Our quality system is in compliance with the provisions of the ISO 13485:2003 standards and the Medical Device Regulations (MDR) of Health Canada. The audit evaluated MRC-Holland’s procedures for quality assurance, production, development, distribution, customer support, internal audits, and purchasing. The audit preparation was a company-wide initiative led by Eline Sepers MSc, our Quality Manager.
